Your Nakshatra & current Dasha — free
The Vedic snapshot calculator computes your sidereal Moon, names your Nakshatra — the lunar mansion older and finer than the twelve signs — and tells you which planetary chapter (Mahadasha) you are living right now, and when it began. Real sidereal mathematics, on screen, in seconds.
Find your Nakshatra →Three ideas that change the sky
Jyotish is not Western astrology with different names — it is a different instrument. Three ideas carry most of the difference.
Rashi — the sidereal zodiac
The West anchors the zodiac to the seasons; Jyotish anchors it to the stars themselves. The two skies have drifted about 24° apart — which is why your Vedic Sun or Moon may wear a different sign. Not a contradiction: two instruments, one sky.
Nakshatras — the 27 mansions
Beneath the twelve signs, Jyotish reads twenty-seven lunar mansions, each about 13°20′ wide, each with its own deity, symbol and temperament. Your Moon's Nakshatra is often more telling than its sign.
Dashas — the timeline
Jyotish's signature gift: the Vimshottari Dasha divides your life into planetary chapters — Venus years, Saturn years, Moon years. Which chapter you are in, when it began, and when the page turns: all computed from your Moon's exact position.
Another sky over the same life
Jyotish — "the science of light" — has read the heavens for thousands of years, and it reads them differently. The sidereal zodiac, anchored to the stars themselves. The twenty-seven Nakshatras, lunar mansions finer and older than the twelve signs. And the Vimshottari Dasha: a timeline of your life in planetary chapters — which one you're living now, when it began, and when the page turns.
AuraDasha is a multicultural platform, and this is a promise we take slowly on purpose: each tradition honored on its own terms, with its own mathematics, its own language, its own dignity — never a Western reading wearing a costume. The Vedic engine is being built and validated the same way everything here is: gabarito by gabarito, until it's right.
When it opens, the collection will begin with two depths — your essential Vedic portrait, and the complete reading with your Dasha timeline.
The formation, in chapters
- Your Lagna — the sidereal ascendant: the vessel this life was given.
- Your Rashi & Nakshatra — the Moon's sign and lunar mansion: the emotional ground and its ancient name.
- The Grahas in their Bhavas — the nine planets of Jyotish through the twelve houses.
- Your Yogas — the named combinations your chart carries, and what they promise.
- Your Dasha Timeline — the planetary chapters of your life: the one you're in, and when the next begins.
— from the collection in preparation
If your life so far had chapters with names, what would this one be called — and when, honestly, did it begin?

Before it opens
How is Vedic different from Western astrology?
Different zodiac (sidereal, anchored to the stars), different tools (Nakshatras, Dashas, Yogas), different questions. Your Sun sign may even differ between the two — that's not a contradiction, it's two instruments reading one sky.
Why isn't it open yet?
Because we refuse to ship a tradition half-honored. The sidereal engine is being validated against reference charts until every position is right. It opens when it's worthy.
Will I need my exact birth time?
Yes — Jyotish is precise about time. The Lagna and houses shift quickly, and the Dasha timeline is calculated from your Moon's exact position.
