Rising sign calculator
Your Ascendant is the sign that was climbing the eastern horizon at the exact minute you were born — the face the world meets first. It changes every two hours, so the birth time matters here. Computed from real astronomy, free, on screen.
Your rising is the doorway — not the house
Behind your Ascendant stands your whole sky: Sun, Moon, every planet and every quiet room. Your complete birth chart is free to see — computed from the same exact minute.

Why is the birth time required?
The Ascendant moves through the entire zodiac every 24 hours — roughly one sign every two hours. A birth certificate time, or a parent's memory of the hour, is usually enough to land in the right sign.
What if I truly don't know my time?
Without a time the Ascendant can't be computed honestly — and we would rather give you nothing than a guess. Your free birth chart still works without a time: Sun, Moon and every planetary sign remain exact.
Is this computed or copied from tables?
Computed. Your birth data runs through the same self-hosted astronomical engine that powers our readings — with historical time-zone and daylight-saving handling for your birthplace and year.
